Update on Former TSB Project

August 12, 2024

Fylde Council is pleased to announce the successful ongoing refurbishment of a Grade II listed building acquired in April 2022, funded through the Future High Street Fund (FHSF).

The Former Charity Girls’ School on Poulton Street has a total funding package of £920,051 which has been allocated for the acquisition and conversion of this historic property, marking a significant investment in the revitalization of Kirkham town centre.

In April 2024, Rosslee Construction, a renowned Lancashire-based contractor, was appointed to commence refurbishment works on the property. The project has been progressing extremely well, with a new extension to the rear currently under construction. This vital project is on track to be completed as planned by November 2024.

Michael Clarkson, Managing Director at Rosslee Construction said: “The construction programme is progressing well and we are delighted to be involved in the revitalization of this historic building and Kirkham town centre, working alongside local architect DC&MG Associates and supporting the local economy through our social value enterprises.

“We are looking forward to completing a successful project for the benefit of the local community.”

He added: “As part of our commitment to giving back to the community, we are delighted to announce a £500 donation to Grow Kirkham which is a local charity.

“Additionally, we will be offering work experience to a decorating student later in the contract, providing valuable on-the-job training and experience. We will be sharing updates on these initiatives on our social media channels in due course."
