More Romans found in Kirkham!
Northwest heritage spent three days during October half-term working with students from Carr Hill Highschool and Kirkham Grammar School.
The students worked with the archaeologists to excavate test pits and carry out geophysical surveys on the playing fields at Carr Hill, their hard work was soon rewarded with Roman artefacts representing nearly 2,000 years of Kirkham history.
These findings will form part of the wider archaeological excavations and wed like to thank the teachers and pupils involved for their contribution.
This work forms part of Kirkham's Historic England HAZ Cultural programme, also funded by NLHF, LCC, KTC and FBC.
